by John on July 29, 2010

Making money online involves getting other peoples’ attention. You must be visible for people to know about the products that you have for sale and the services that you have to offer. Make this happen by creating viral content. It’s no guarantee that your content will be viral each time. A lot of what goes viral does so simply based on the whim of a single individual. Of course, you can take steps to increase your chances that people will notice you. You don’t know if you will go viral, but this shouldn’t mean that you won’t try to improve your chances. The following are a few things that you should do.

Put your work out there. Your created work is not enough. Other people have to know about it. One of the best ways to do this is to submit your work to the social bookmarking sites. You can post your work to free services such as StumbleUpon, Digg and Reddit. Internet users frequent such sites while looking for the next big topic of interest. All it takes is for one or two of these users to click on your links and you go from being nonexistent to well known. Don’t make it hard for people to find you. Your work won’t ever go viral if people have to look for you. Don’t be afraid of expressing an opinion. Having a strong opinion is something that everyone should aspire to. You will have to find the confidence to express what’s on your mind if you ever hope to produce viral content. Your statement must be strong, and you have to feel good about stating them. Weak statements offered with little passion do not make it to viral status. It might not even get read beyond the first few sentences!

Make an effort to be active in web communities. Participate in forums, or leave insightful comments on blogs in your niche. There’s a much larger conversation in your market, and try to be a part of it. Try to offer meaningful involvement, and if you do then your market will take note of who you are. You’ll often be able to link back to your site on comment forms and in forum sig files. You will develop a positive reputation if you try to genuinely help others, and one day something you create could become viral.

It’s not exactly known what will create viral content. This is due to no one being able to know what will become viral, or not. You can, however, take steps to ensure that your work is worth the attention you are trying to receive. However, just hoping something happens will not produce anything for you. Take a few easy steps to make your content and creations worthy of going viral. You could be shocked with your results.
